Critical Biology

Critical Biology is a Seoul bioclub for creative, hands-on work with living systems, inspired by the global DIY biology movement and MIT’s Fab Labs. It started in September 2024 as Art Bio Lab Seoul and now goes by Critical Biology.

The lab is in Yaksu, central Seoul, in a space with both a Biosafety Level 1 and a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) lab, one of the few biosafety-equipped spaces anywhere that opens its doors to the public. It runs workshops, book clubs, lectures, and open collaborations for anyone who wants to work creatively with biology.
