Complementing the Annika Yi exhibition There Exists Another Evolution, But In This One, the education program A Tiny, Vast World gave students the opportunity to engage with bioart by collecting samples from a small artificial ecosystem and creating their own bioart pieces.
While prospecting the diverse visible and invisible life forms within this ecosystem, children were encouraged to combine scientific inquiry with imaginative thinking, considering the agency of these organisms and how they are interconnected, influence one another, and ultimately impact us all. Through engaging their senses—sight, touch, hearing, and smell—the program offered a synesthetic journey, helping students grasp the invisible yet vast world intricately linked to our own lives.
